West Virginia's mighty offense once again outlasts its inept defense.

#8 West Virginia's mighty offense once again outlasts its inept defense.
Their games are fun to watch. Last week they gave up 63 and won. This week they gave up 45 and won against the 11th-ranked Texas Longhorns.

WVU's Heisman candidate, QB Geno Smith, changed it up this week by handing the ball again and again to running back Andrew Buie, who rushed for 207 yards. Smith also threw 4 TDs with no picks, making him 24-0 for the season (and he's only been sacked three times in five games).

In the other Top 25 match-ups:

#10 Florida ended #4 LSU's hopes for an undefeated season. LSU is the anti-West Virginia, with very little offense to go with its powerful defense. They held Florida to 61 yards passing, but lost 14-6 because it's damned hard to win games without crossing the goal line.

#6 South Carolina kicked the stuffing out of #5 Georgia, 35-7.

#3 Florida State blew a 16-0 halftime lead and lost to North Carolina State.

With 3-4-5 all losing, I suppose South Carolina will jump to #3. Kansas State, Notre Dame, West Virginia and Florida will follow, not necessarily in that order.
