A couple of days ago one of my sons asked me how I thought the Falcons would finish after their 8-0 start. My answer was "Maybe 9-7." I was kidding, of course, but nobody thought they were the Super Bowl favorites except die-hard Atlanta fans, and the undefeated season is now officially off the table.
The Texans continued to look strong, holding the solid Bears to a mere two field goals. The Bears' Jay Cutler was 7-for-14 for a whopping 40 yards, with no TDs and two picks. Worse yet, he left the game with a concussion.
The Rams and 49ers played to the first NFL tie since 2008.
The Colts are 6-3! Who would have put money on that?
The Jets look worse every week. This time Sanchez was 9-for-22 with a pick and no TDs. The Jets' offense was scoreless. Their only points were scored on a fumble return.
Weird stat o' the week: The Raiders had more yards from scrimmage than the Ravens, but lost 55-20!
You have to tip your hat to: Adrian Peterson's doctor. I'd say that knee reconstruction worked pretty well.
