Jurassic Park 3D took second place on Friday ($7M), but is still expected to drop to third or fourth by the time the weekend ends.
Evil Dead was created for a modest $17M, so it will end up being profitable, and will thus inspire filmmakers to create clones, sequels, and similar films.
