NCAA College Football Scores, week 11

NCAA College Football Scores, week 11
In the Saturday games, #11 Miami, #23 Notre Dame, and #25 Texas Tech fell to unranked opponents. Miami and Tech got their asses handed to them. Miami had been rated as high as #7 this year, and Texas Tech had once risen to #10. What were we thinking?

The losses by Tech and Notre Dame will drop them from the leader board, to be supplanted by (presumably) Georgia and the Texas Longhorns. Georgia was ranked #26 in both human polls, and they destroyed this week's opponent, albeit a weak one. Texas was #27 in both human polls and beat West Virginia in OT this week to maintain their #1 spot in the Big 12. According to Sagarin's computer rankings, both of those teams should have been in the top 25 to begin with. Georgia has three losses, but plays the most difficult schedule in the nation, per Sagarin, having already faced five of his top 30!

Fresno State won 48-10 to remain undefeated, and they should move up at least one spot (past Miami) in their quest for a major bowl. They may also pass LSU, I suppose, which was #13 and lost, but that loss was to to mighty 'Bama, so it's difficult to predict the impact on their ranking.

Texas A&M scored 51, but they showed they never could have been a contender for the national title, because they just don't have any D and their offense is prolific, but reckless (3 more picks against Johnny Football). Well, at least they are fun to watch. They allowed Mississippi State (4-5) to score 41. That's the same Mississippi State which scored a mere 3 against Oklahoma State, and had not previously scored more than 28 against any credible opponent.

The most interesting question this week is how spots 3-6 will shake out. Stanford was #5 and beat #3 Oregon, but Stanford has a loss and has to compete for the #3 spot with undefeated Baylor and Ohio State. As for Oregon, will they drop to #6, as seems logical, or will they fall even farther?
