I wonder if this will be another one of those dark, edgy reboots that are now so popular. Gilligan is now officially recognized as learning-impaired, but the Skipper is not politically correct. The Skipper still beats Gilligan with his hat, but now the hat is inlaid with razor blades, so Gilligan's head is all scarred and bloodied. The professor is busy creating Rube Goldberg versions of S&M contraptions. Lovey Howell is a junkie. Mr Howell made his money in white slavery and Mary Anne is one of his former slaves with no forgiveness in her heart.

Ginger, on the other hand, is the same as in the original series. And I mean exactly the same. The role is still played by Tina Louise in the same dress, albeit a tattered old version of it. The character is now 80 years old, in an advanced stage of senile dementia, and living in the past. This does not prevent the Skipper and the Professor from fuckin' her senseless.
