UCF's game against SMU this week is almost meaningless, because UCF is in the BCS series even if they lose. It will be their first trip to the big show.
Assuming that the national championship will pit Florida State against Ohio State, UCF is likely to face the winner of the Auburn/Missouri match-up in the Sugar Bowl. The loser of that SEC title match will likely have to settle for a second-tier bowl, probably against Wisconsin in the Capital One Bowl in Orlando on New Year's Day.
