The Canadian men edged the USA, just as their female counterparts had earlier. The Canadian men got 37 shots on goal, while their goalie Carey Price shut the US team out. The USA will now have to defeat Finland or go home without so much as a bronze.
Canada really has our number in Olympic hockey. Counting both men and women, they have won all six elimination games against the USA in the last four Olympiads. The countries did not face each other in 2006, but Canada won both matches in 2002 and both in 2010, with the gold on the line in each case.
