Hell, we had worse commutes than that from Plano to Dallas every freakin' day in the 1980s - in perfect weather. It was a 2 1/2 hour drive down US 75, to cover something like 17 miles, five days a week. Leave the house at 5:45, arrive to work at 6:00; but dare to leave at 6:30, arrive at 9:00.
