Pope Francis simply erred in pronunciation and said "cazzo" (dick, schlong, cock) instead of "caso" (case). He was speaking Italian, which is not his native language, and he corrected himself.

I don't speak Italian, either, so I'm just relaying other observations. Apparently that word could also be translated as "fuck" in certain phrases. One commenter noted: "'Cazzo' as a word, in and of itself, means 'dick' or 'cock'. However, in phrases such as 'Che cazzo fai?!' or 'Che cazzo e' quella cosa?!', the meaning of the phrase (not the word) translates more roughly as 'fuck', i.e, 'What the fuck are you doing?!' and 'What the fuck is that thing?!', respectively. If you want to say you don't give a fuck, then you would say 'Non me ne fotte un cazzo!'"
