"Meanwhile the faith-based Heaven Is for Real continues to pleasantly surprise during its first weekend in wide release: TriStar’s film brought in $21.5 million this weekend." That's a very pleasant surprise for investors, who created the film for a modest $12M.

Johnny Depp's film took in a mere #11.5 million - about half of expectations.

Haunted House 2 took in only $9M, but that's plenty, considering that the flick was reportedly produced for about a buck sixty five ($4M is the real number). There will probably be a #3.
