How Rich is Bill Gates? He could buy Boston

How Rich is Bill Gates? He could buy Boston
He could not buy every building, but he could buy every piece of single-family residential property and become the city's only individual property holder. That would substantially reduce the property taxes on those homes, since he would not need any schools.

The Walton Family, of Wal-Mart, could buy all of Seattle, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, Las Vegas or Washington, D.C. (In Atlanta, for example, that means they could own almost 300,000 homes. That's a few bucks.)
