This is a statistical survey of precisely what is played on self-identified "classic rock" stations. Interesting analysis.
The results vary widely by region, but overall the top two songs played are both from Aerosmith.
Although Led Zeppelin had none of the songs which are played most frequently, they are the band played most frequently!
The top 15 songs are all from the period 1968-1983, with the strongest concentration in the years 1975 and 1976, which accounted for nine of the top fifteen.
