Tyson has shown himself to be a free thinker who wants to consider the evidence. He's attacked anti-science factions on both the left and right, and for that he should be commended.
On the other hand, the producers/developers of GMOs have done a terrible job at public relations. Why do we think of these crops as "genetically modified" instead of "scientifically improved." This should receive a linguistic makeover like the one that makes us refer to "foreign criminals" as "undocumented residents."

Yep. I've often called the GMO crop issue global warming for the liberals. They ignore the science on those just as much as the right wing nut jobs ignore global warming.
