A president shouldn't tell an NFL team what to do, Trump tweeted
"Our country has far bigger problems! FOCUS on them, not nonsense."
I think what he meant is that an uppity black President should not tell the NFL what to do. It's OK for a white guy.
You just crystallized the entirety of Trump's campaign platform.
ReplyDeleteI don't deny that these things don't have a sociological impact and aren't important to many people, but I question how important they actually are to Trump.
ReplyDeleteThe only time he seems to get OUTRAGED! liked this is when Mueller/The Russian investigation would otherwise be in the headlines.
These names won't mean much to most people, but as former Delta South Independent Member of the (Provincial ) Legislative Assembly said about then B.C Premier Christy Clark: "She is the diva of distraction."
I'd apply that to Trump as well: he is the diva of distraction.
I think when people complain that Donald Trump said THIS ten years ago or whenever but NOW he's saying THIS... it's like they are saying that the man doesn't have the right to change his mind or his opinion on something.
ReplyDeleteI say to them - are YOU the same person you were ten years ago? Do you hold the same opinions you had ten years ago?
No? Then STFU!
We point it out because it has been clear for YEARS that he says what is politically/financially expedient AT THE TIME. He has no compass, moral or otherwise. He blows and twists in the wind. He words and promises mean less than nothing. And those who got sucked in believing him are exactly that. SUCKERS.
DeleteYou Shut the Fuck Up. Sucker.
This tweet of his was from four years ago, and the only difference I can think of with Trump that would make him change his opinion is that he wasn't President then and he is now.
ReplyDeleteI also suspect during the 2004 campaign that you were one of the mindless drones who referred to Senator John Kerry as a 'flip flopper.'
That was 13 years ago, but, again the only difference I can see is that Kerry was a Democrat and Trump isn't.
Kerry wasn't a flip-flopper, he was a crowd pleaser. Whatever the current crowd he was speaking in front of wanted to hear, that's what Kerry was all about. Then at the next meeting, he would be
Deletediametrically opposite in order to please THAT crowd. I guess if that made him a flip-flopper, well, so be it.
Let me ask you something, Adam, have you, personally, changed any of your opinions or changed your mind about ANYTHING in the last 4 years?
DeleteI'm sure I have, but I'm sure I could also explain why I changed my mind. What reason could there be for Trump to have changed his mind on this?
DeleteOf course, your claim that Kerry was a 'crowd pleaser' is exactly what Trump frequently is.
For instance, since tax reform is the latest issue from Congress and the White House, Trump has said on a number of times to the public at large that his tax plan will increase taxes on the so-called 1%. Yet, the plans coming out from Congress and the White House are, in fact, another round of large tax decreases on the so-called 1%.
I don't know if that makes Trump a flip-flopper, a liar or simply unaware of what his own administration is proposing, but, again, I suspect that whatever ultimately emerges from the White House, you'll defend it.
Oh great. Now he can’t even be held accountable for what he actually writes. What’s the time limit for that? Can we hold him accountable for things he said a year ago? Last month? How about yesterday? Trust me Trump hasn’t changed his mind since the 80’s let alone 4 years ago.
ReplyDeleteYou know him personally, that you can make that claim? Can you get me in to see him? That would be cool!
DeleteName one subject where trump has not changed his mind.
DeleteSilence from the Trumpkin...
ReplyDeleteHe's over reading Breitbart
DeleteGive me a break. You think that four years ago Trump felt that a president should concentrate on important matters, not nonsense, and now he thinks a president should ignore important matters and focus on nonsense?
ReplyDeleteHe is not that stupid. He is, however, that hypocritical. Moreover, you are giving him credit for actually having a position of some kind. He never thinks through anything to that degree. He just Tweets out the first thing that comes to mind. I'm quite sure if you ask him whether he now thinks Obama was right, and that Presidents SHOULD tell the NFL owners how to operate, you would find that he still thinks Obama was wrong, but will nevertheless defend his own actions.
As I mentioned at the very outset, his real position is that it is OK for him, but not for other Presidents (especially black ones).
