College Football Playoff Rankings

College Football Playoff Rankings

1 Mississippi State
2 Oregon
3 Florida State
4 TCU

I have pointed out earlier that FSU, TCU and Oregon have easy schedules remaining, so those three teams seem to have almost guaranteed seats at the table, assuming FSU can hold on to its QB through his various scandals. That leaves only one slot for whichever SEC team emerges from the scheduling bloodbath. The experts say that will probably be Alabama because they have all their remaining games at home.

If Mississippi State runs the table, they're in, so it's theirs to lose, but they still have to get past Alabama on the road, Ole Miss on the road, and then either Georgia or Missouri in the SEC championship game. If they can do that, they would deserve more than simply a place at the table. They would deserve a place in Valhalla. It's an odd situation because they find themselves 9-point underdogs this week despite the fact that they are ranked #1 in the country!
