Hillary has won 13 years in a row and 17 of the past 18. "Clinton has been most admired woman 19 times, easily the most of any woman in Gallup's history of asking the most admired question, six more times than Eleanor Roosevelt." She has dropped precipitously, however, in the past two years, from 21% in 2012 to 15% last year to 12% this year.
It's interesting to view the results separated by the political affiliation of the polled sample. Republicans’ top five women are Condoleezza Rice (9 percent), Oprah Winfrey (6 percent), Hillary Clinton (5), Sarah Palin (4), and Angelina Jolie (3). So three women are admired more than Sarah Palin by GOP voters: two black women and ... Hillary? As ol' Casey Stengel used to say, "amazin'"
Oddly enough, Barack Obama is the most admired man among Republicans, although he barely edges out Cool Pope Frank by a fraction of a percent. (They each get 8% of the votes, rounded to the nearest percent.) Among Democratic voters, the same two guys finish 1-2, but Obama wins by a wide margin: 33 percent for the Prez to a mere 5 for the progressive pontiff.
