Playoff breakdown: If the games were today - TCU #3

Playoff breakdown: If the games were today - TCU #3
The committee seems to be on the verge of kicking FSU, the only undefeated major team, out of the playoff picture altogether. They dropped them below TCU this week!

What will the committee do if FSU barely beats Georgia Tech while Ohio State or Baylor destroys a top-notch opponent? Would they boot them to 5th or 6th, and therefore out of the playoffs? I don't know the answer, but I'm pretty sure that football fans want them in there if they are undefeated. One thing is quite certain, though. If FSU loses to Georgia Tech, they will not be in that playoff.

What's likely to happen this weekend?

#1 Alabama and #2 Oregon look pretty darned safe. They are each 2-TD favorites in their conference championships. (In Oregon's case, however, they are a 2-TD favorite over a team they previously lost to!)

#3 TCU is favored by 33 (!!) over Iowa State, so their place looks completely secure.

The fourth spot is the one up for grabs. #6 Baylor will have its hands full with Kansas State, but should win. There is no line yet on that game, but Baylor will be favored by somewhere between 7 and 10. A win by Baylor could get the Bears into the playoffs if FSU and Ohio State falter, and that's not as unlikely as you may think. #4 FSU is only favored by 4 over Georgia Tech, and #5 Ohio State is actually a 4-point underdog against Wisconsin.
