Tom Brady Wins

Tom Brady Wins

The judge ruled in his favor as any judge would have done because: (1) there was no evidence that Brady was involved in deflating footballs; (2) a Nobel prize winner in Chemistry reviewed the evidence and concluded there was no clear evidence that the footballs were deflated in the first place; (3) the NFL refused to let lawyer Jeff Pash take the stand or produce investigative files (gee, I wonder why); (4) Ted Wells further obstructed the proceedings by refusing to talk about his discussions with the NFL, hilariously asserting "attorney-client" privilege, thus revealing himself to be the NFL's attorney, even though he was supposed to be an independent investigator; (5) Wells also admitted that the NFL was allowed to review and change his so-called "independent" report before publication (the judge also placed the word "independent" in quotes in his decision); (6) even if every single charge against Brady had been true, nothing in the CBA could uphold a 4-game suspension, or possibly any suspension at all!

As the Breitbart analysis pointed out, "Ted Wells sought to have it one way—his way. He played prosecutor and judge, independent inspector and Roger Goodell’s lawyer, an advocate for openness in the investigated and for invoking attorney-client privilege for the investigator, a demander of the husband of a supermodel’s phone and a refuser to let others see his interview notes."

While the judge in this case did not actually rule that Goodell told any outright lies, once again the NFL got caught sneaking around and covering up their procedures. Given all their hanky-panky behind the scenes which came to light in this hearing, I'm surprised they ever allowed the case to go this far.

Sigh.

Unfortunately for me, I don't really like the Patriots.
