On a serious note, I have no idea why the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee would find it necessary or useful to talk to an Irish singer. Maybe they're investigating whether The Irish Rovers are really just some dudes from Iowa using Irish music as an offshore tax dodge. I guess the Senators became suspicious when two of the Rovers listed their birthplace as "Ballysomething."
