Alec Baldwin doesn't quite grasp the concept of a memoir
I would say there is only one general rule to respect when writing a memoir: don't lie about anything if there are dozens of living people who know the true story!
I make it a practice to lie only about the dead, and even then only if all the witnesses are dead. Of course at my age, that includes pretty much my entire past, or at least the part worth talking about.
