2017 NCAA College Football Polls and Rankings for Week 8

2017 NCAA College Football Polls and Rankings for Week 8 - ESPN

Clemson did stay in the top ten (at #7 or #8), despite a loss. Washington and Washington State each dropped seven slots into the second ten. Auburn plummeted to #21.

Both Oklahoma and Oklahoma State made it into the top ten of the AP poll, as did undefeated Miami.

LSU clawed its way back onto the list with two consecutive victories over ranked teams, including this week's win over #10 Auburn. LSU gets the award for the split personality of the year. They have those two big wins, plus another one over Syracuse, which just defeated Clemson. And then they have a merciless drubbing by Mississippi State and an embarrassing loss to Troy, which was their first home loss to a non-conference team in 17 years (a streak of 49 wins).

NOTE: Syracuse defeated the defending national champion and then-current #2 team in the nation, and did not get mentioned on a single ballot in either poll. They are the Rodney Dangerfield of college ball.
