"The ‘Last Week Tonight’ host created a competing children’s book about the vice president’s pet bunny rabbit, Marlon Bundo, with all proceeds going to two LGBT organizations."

  1. Childish. But then I would expect nothing more from Oliver.

    1. As opposed to the maturity displayed by a president constantly calling names on twitter? Quite a double standard.

    2. Not really. Personally I don't like Trump's habit, either. But the problem is we have entire government that has been behaving like an out of control kindergarten class for more years than Trump has been on the scene. And until the voters start taking control back, it will remain so.

    3. But John Oliver is supposed to act immature. That's what comedy is all about. Those guys are the animal house fraternity in the college of life. Trump, on the other hand is supposed to be the dean.

  2. And what you would deem to be appropriate adult satire of Mike Pence's political positions?

    1. Why does there need to be satire of someone's political positions? See my comment above.

    2. Because its one way of voicing displeasure with elected officials. Should we just sit here quietly between elections?

    3. The Gent's 'logic' is that applies when a Republican is President.

    4. Of course there should always be satire of politicians, even the ones who are dignified citizens like Jimmy Carter and Bush the Elder. And when the President is a full-out buffoon (we won't mention any examples by name), satire gives us a welcome catharsis from the stress, anger and fear we experience daily. That's a public service.
