Howard Dean tells Tim Russert: "the thing that really bothered me the most is the insinuation that the president continues to make to this day that Osama bin Laden had something to do with supporting terrorists"
  • Osama? Terrorists? No. Lovely guy. He was a smashing bloke. He used to buy his mother flowers and that. He was like a brother to me. I mean, he didn't want to nail my head to the floor. I had to insist. He wanted to let me off. He'd do anything for you, Osama would.

  1. If you look at the context, you can tell he's talking about Saddam. That means he's just stupid not incredibly ignorant.

  2. Smells fishy to me. You'd think that the interviewer would pick up on it, no? Probably a transcription error. Dean sez "Saddam", lazy stoned transciber writes "Osama".
