The Eddie Murphy movie was a monumental bomb, but that was largely cancelled out by the fact that the top three films, including the two new ones, did quite a bit better than expected. There was no real headliner, so the weekend fell about 15% short of last year, which featured the most recent Harry Potter offering.As I mentioned in yesterday's post, Meet Dave had the third-lowest weekend of all time among films released in 3000 or more theaters.
