Only two new films will appear in more than 14 theaters:
- The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3: 42% positive reviews, 3000 theaters. Action film remake starring Travolta and Denzel, directed by Tony Scott, the master of rapid cuts and maniacal pacing. The critics were really split on this one. Some felt it to be a really kick-ass, well-paced guilty pleasure film, while others whined about how it desecrated the original.
- Imagine That. The latest Eddie Murphy family film. 36% positive reviews, 3000 theaters.
