Contagion: 73% positive reviews. Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, and Jude Law in a bio-thriller about a global epidemic. It was directed by Soderbergh, for reasons known only to him and God.
Warrior: 89%. Nick Nolte makes a comeback in this film about mixed martial artists. It's basically an old-school flick from the boxing genre, but the 89% is for real. There are 44 reviews on file, and they include praise from many mainstream reviewers. Even Rex Reed liked it, improbably enough. "Skillfully made and adrenalin-fueled, Warrior is nothing like what I expected. It overcomes inescapable boxing and martial arts clichés and leaves you thoroughly sated, energized and wanting more."
There are no reviews yet for Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star, "a new comedy starring Nick Swardson, Christina Ricci, Don Johnson, and Stephen Dorff. Bucky (Swardson) is a small town grocery bagger, going nowhere in life - until he discovers that his conservative parents were once adult film stars! Armed with the belief that he has found his destiny, Bucky packs up and heads out to LA, hoping to follow in his parents' footsteps."
There is only one (negative, but not contemptuous) review for Creature, "the tale of Lockjaw, a fabled god-like creature who is half-man, half-alligator."
