He tossed his second consecutive complete game, a shutout, and lowered his ERA to 0.99!
He's one of baseball's best kept secrets, with a lifetime W-L percentage of .639, after starting his career 9-0. Surprisingly, despite an 11-2 record with a 2.56 ERA, he only finished fifth in the AL Rookie of the Year balloting that year (2006), and could only finish fourth among pitchers! Verlander (the ROY) won 17, Papelbon had a 0.92 ERA, and Francisco Liriano was 12-3 with a 2.16 ERA.
2006 produced one of the greatest rookie crops in history. That was the same year that the Marlins unleashed their incredible horde of first year men, including Hanley, Uggla, and Josh Johnson, while the rest of the National League introduced Prince Fielder, Ryan Zimmerman, Matt Cain and Andre Ethier. (Hanley won the ROY.)
