Art teacher fired for teaching art
He will join the many science teachers who came under fire for teaching science, as well as the history teachers who were denigrated for teaching history.
Gee. I wonder why America's educational standards are behind the rest of the world. Maybe if we put our minds to it, we can improve our student math scores from 35th in the world. Let's start small, maybe next year we can beat the mighty Slovak Republic. By the way, we fall behind all three of the Baltic states - barely behind Latvia and Lithuania, but far behind Estonia.
Yeah, that's right, farkin' Estonia, the country I used to make fun of 22 years ago, when I started blogging, because the Russian army had just left, and Estonia was so rural and undeveloped that there were only three movie theaters. They are now number nine in the world in math, and highest in the EU. They also have the lowest rate of debt to GDP in the EU. And by the way, they also outperform the USA in measures of civil liberties and freedom of the press, despite the fact that they used to be part of the Soviet Union.
They also have a system that allows both voting and filing tax returns in a few minutes on the internet.
Those backwards rubes!
To be fair, they actually had a head start on us. Many Americans believe that the world was created in 4004 BC, but Estonians were there long before the creation. "The territory of Estonia has been inhabited since at least 6500 BC." So presumably God is Estonian, or was just hanging out in Estonia when he or she created the rest of the universe. Given that, I guess we would not be expected to catch them for another 2500 years.
Well, having looked at the images, it sure looks to me like that parent who complained needs something to do with their life.
